Pet Insurance

Ok lets back out of the 7 kingdoms...

So if you do have a flock of dragons like Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones Season 9, First you'll have to prove they are in your possession by winning a battle and declaring yourself Khaleesi of the realm.

Till then, insurance is available for one of these cute little dragon kin...

More than likely it won't be a cold blooded fire breathing creature. So let's take a look at pet insurance for the real world.

Isn't it funny how every car on the road is insured; But as far as ourselves or our loved ones including our adorable pets are not?

It's not neglect, we love our pets just as much as they unconditionally love us.

Whats the best pet insurance to get?

The answer is, what ever is affordable.

And when is the best time?

Asap!

How old should my pet be?

What does pet insurance cover?

Did you ask all these questions for your car?

Well, here is where I'm taking this. Not that it is my opinion but I wanted to share an interesting perspective a colleague of mine presented to me recently. And the bottom line of her argument was that it is closely bordering neglect and inhumane treatment of domestic animals if an owner or caretaker of one or more pets doesn't provide a safety net if something happens; Especially if they cannot afford the medical care after an incident or illness happens.

At the time, being that her feet were grounded and her flag was planted with so much passion in this argument I resisted with no push back or counter points to the claim. Mostly because I had none anyway. It was the first time I heard about this side. Reason being that I, myself do not own a pet since I can hardly take care of myself.

Now back to Game of Thrones. Don't worry, no spoiler alert needed; We'll keep it vague. See what happened to one of Daenerys Targaryen's dragons in season 7? True, the splendid fierce beast is still flying in a raging war, but still.

Have you taken a side yet?...Not in the war silly; I'm talking about whether to insure or not to insure.

My passionless take on it is of course yes. But mind you it's not even my "realm" so to speak. So no, pet insurance is not my field. But knowing the importance of carrying insurance for yourself or your loved ones including your transportation or business is very important since you never know what life will throw at you. And that is exactly what insurance is made for.

There are just as many carriers that specialize in pet insurance as there are car insurance carriers. So your choices will be more than abundant. Probably more on the side of confusing.
